Food & Testing Log 4.6.10 (+ Missions Accomplished)

So, obviously I haven't been here for awhile. Apparently I am forgetful AND those darned batteries are rather elusive. I seriously couldn't find them anywhere.

The Man stumbled across some in Home Depot last night, though, so problem solved.

9:15am 70 mg/dL After Fasting

breakfast: homemade pumpkin pie, 1 cup coffee w/cream
lunch: egg salad, whole wheat crackers
snack: more crackers, 1 cup coffee w/cream, a couple pieces of Easter chocolate
dinner: tacos w/assorted toppings


Oh, and I decided to add a "Missions Accomplished" section to these posts, for my own benefit... 'cause I feel like I'm getting nothing done most days, yet the time just goes POOF! So I'm hoping to either figure out where the time goes OR give myself a morale boost with the discovery that I'm doing more than I realize. Ha! We'll see.

Missions Accomplished:
  • The Basics: 3 meals + random snacks to all humans, animals fed, children dressed & undressed at the appropriate times, homeschool lessons, etc...
  • Errands: Bank, Target, jobsite, Whole Foods
  • Cleaned out the chicken coop
  • Took a nap (ha!)
  • Random house tidying

And even though it wasn't something I did *today*, it was so nice to see the 2 big bags of trash, pile o' recycling, and 18 bags of leaves get picked up from the curb today. I love completion. Ha!

Not much accomplished today. *sigh* I hate errands. They take too long.

Oh, and for the record: I'm about 19 1/2 weeks along now. ;)

Breakfast: Bagel w/cream cheese, sip of OJ, 1 cup coffee w/cream
Lunch: Polenta topped w/cheddar; 1/2 an apple; protein shake
Snack: Bagel w/cream cheese & turkey
Dinner: chicken & rice casserole

Still no batteries. I officially suck. But I reeeeally don't want to drag all of these kids with me and the man has been unavailable all day.

Lunch: Bagel w/cream cheese
Snack: Popcorn
Dinner: Protein shake

Um, so I didn't eat much today. AND I didn't get to the store for batteries. Ugh.

8:47am 61mg/dL After Fasting

Breakfast: Tangerine, 1 cup Coffee w/cream
Snack: Slice of pumpkin pie
Lunch: Turkey & Cheese quesadillas (2); 1/2 avocado
Snack: White corn tortilla chips; 1/2 avocado
Dinner: Sloppy Joes

....when I went to test before lunch, I discovered the batteries were dead in the meter. I sent the man out to get new ones, but apparently he had no luck. If at all possible, I'll go out first thing tomorrow morning.

Breakfast: Leftover Chili w/cheese & avocado
Snack: Coffee, cheese cubes
Lunch: Cheeseburger and Fries from a local diner, rootbeer float
Snack: Tangerine
Dinner: Eggs w/ green chiles and cheddar cheese
Snack: Homemade Pumpkin Pie

OK, so not the best food day ever. And I forgot to test. But really, it was a Horrible, Terrible, No-Good Very Bad Day. So we start again tomorrow.

Breakfast: Luna Bar, 1 cup coffee w/cream
8:11am 110mg/dL [soon] After Meal; feeling jittery- probably the coffee.
Snack: Protein shake (almond milk, cocoa, protein powder, ice), veggie pot pie (This was gross. I need to go shopping.)

1:15pm 95mg/dL Before Lunch

Lunch: Cheddar & Turkey breast on tortillas (2) with avocado (1/2); another protein shake (with goat milk instead of almond this time)

3:25pm 91mg/dL After Lunch

Snack: Popcorn & OJ
Dinner: Chili with cheddar cheese and avocado garnish; white corn tortilla chips

Food & Testing Log 3.23.10

8:31am 72mg/dL After Fasting

Breakfast: Parmesean Bagel w/butter & cream cheese, OJ
Snack: 1/2 Luna Bar, 1 cup coffee w/cream
Lunch: 3 Tacos w/cheese & green chiles
Snack: 1 Chile Rellenos (not very yummy. bah. I had high hopes.), Smoothie (almond milk, spinach, blueberries, protein powder)
Dinner: Chicken breast, roasted potatoes, salad w/Ceasar dressing
